It's okay to keep attacking the language from different languages. As long as you are engaged and enjoying yourself, and working with native materials, you'll eventually reach the goal of fluency. Learning vocabulary helps you hear more, and hearing more introduces you to more vocabulary. When I am bored with one task, I move to another, and when I come back to the previous task I find I know more about that. It is one giant castle, there are just many ways to get in.
