I think one of the reasons it feels good to have a big learning project alongside writing music is that composing is such an uncertain, frustrating, meandering process that, comparatively, learning language seems quite straightforward and even easy. Especially because I have so much trust in Khatz's/AntiMoon's method, it's like the system is fundamentally set. Of course I tweak it to my needs, but it has so much more certainty than the process of writing music.
