I've found Khatz's advice to continually be getting new media very useful. I will bore very quickly of listening to the same podcast over and over, and the language learning will no longer be fun. But if I have new songs and podcasts to listen to, I am much happier. And then I am more likely to return to the older ones. Freshness is the name of the game. And also, range. It is useful to introduce yourself to a wide range of native-user materials, especially if you don't live in your target country. As Khatz points out, in trying to simulate the incredible breadth of the country, it is helpful to get materials from all over, and ones that you like.
